The experimental special airworthiness certificate for the ASKA A5 prototype to conduct flight testing for research and development (R&D) has been renewed for the second year. After meeting all safety and airworthiness requirements for the special airworthiness certificate in the R&D category, the FAA has inspected and approved the aircraft for continued flight testing.
The full-scale experimental prototype of ASKA A5 roadable electric-hybrid VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) received its certificate of waiver or authorization (COA), and the special airworthiness certification for R&D in June 2023. To date, our A5 prototype, flown as an unmanned aircraft (UA), has successfully progressed through the hovering and VTOL phases, as well as driving and transitioning between the drive and flight modes. We are continuing hovering and VTOL flight testing, as well as continuing to work towards the next phases of testing, which includes the transition to forward flight as well as runway takeoff and landing.
